Why O’Hara Woods Preserve?
Two words – Virginia Bluebells! Don’t miss a truly one-of-a-kind immersive experience during spring and early summer.

Tip: The GPS directions weren’t great – the closest entry we found was the parking in front of the tennis courts here.

Saw this stunning redbud on the private property on the right while moseying in to the preserve.

The main trail had patches of shade but mostly open.

After a short walk, we decided to go off-trail into the woods on the left, which offered some respite against the scorching sun.

And soon enough, we hit some company.

And more..

And of course, there were bluebells, where ever we went.

Tip: We had to rely on AllTrails all along to compensate for very low signage through the hike. Have found AllTrails to be indispensable for all my outdoor ventures.

We ambled along for some time before heading back.

So long, O’Hara!

Will be back here next spring too, to satiate our new-found appetite for the Virginia Bluebells magic.
